So my theory for why Dimitri doesn’t want to see Rose ties in pretty much with my hope that he would remember what he did as a Strigoi (Yes, I wanted him to remember that.)

See, I think he remembered all the stuff that happened in Russia when he essentially kidnapped her and turned her into a blood whore. I think he remembers that, nd feels really guilty about it. Sure, it wasn’t “him”. Rose doesn’t see it as “him”, BUT.

Here’s where I return to my Buffy metaphor. Angel killed all those people, and even though he did it before he had a soul, even though it wasn’t “him”, he feels guilty and tries to make up for it, even though he doesn’t believe he ever can.

Back to Vampire Academy, I think the reason Dimitri doesn’t want to see Rose is because he can’t. He can’t see her, look at her face, and remember what he did to her.
